Certain settings on many different reports can be customized and stored for future use.
For example, the Items Backordered (Advanced) report, which provides information on quantity of backordered products and from which warehouses they are backordered, can be altered to contain information you have elected to use in the report. By default, the advanced backordered items report displays warehouse location, SKU, product name, sale order #, customer name, quantity ordered, quantity fulfilled, and quantity backordered. It is possible to customize the report to include different columns of data, filtering, grouping, sorting, or aggregations and save those changes for use in the future.
Let’s explore the options for customizing the reports:
Log-in to the Admin panel and navigate to Reports> Items Backordered (Advanced).
At the top of the report, you can specify a date range for the data you would like to receive.
For each column, you can create a filter based on a specified value.
Right-clicking the column header provides more filtering options, including the ability to filter on a second criterion, as well as a wider array of operators for each criteria.
Results can also be grouped by one or more columns. To group by a column, click and drag the desired column header to the top area of the report, or right-click the column header and click “Group By.” You can remove a grouping by clicking the “X” on the group tab.
To sort in either ascending or descending order, simply left-click on a column header or the “group by” column header until the data is sorted in the desired order. Alternatively, ascending and descending sort options are available by right-clicking the column header.
To display an aggregate for a column, right-click the column header and choose one of the aggregate options. Normally, aggregates show up at the bottom of the column. When the report is grouped by columns, however, an aggregate is shown at the bottom of each group. Below, you can see that the report is grouped by Customer Name and SKU. There is an aggregate for each SKU group, highlighted in green, as well as for all the SKUs under each Customer, highlighted in red.
Columns can be reordered by dragging the column header to the desired location.
Columns can also be hidden or shown by right clicking any column header, and picking columns as desired.
To save a customized report, press the Custom Report button. Give the custom report a name.
You can also pick who has access to use the custom report by checking the desired roles.
You can also select a preset date range for the report to run against with the dropdown.
When finished, save the custom report by clicking the Add button.
All custom versions of a report can be accessed from the Load Custom Report section at the top of the screen.
All custom reports can be also be found on the main reports tab of the admin panel.
