As part of the ScanAlert, Inc. (more commonly known as HackerSafe) acquisition by McAfee, Inc., the HackerSafe Seal has been updated and replaced by the McAfee Secure Seal.
The following is from an email received from our partner, McAfee:
Dear Hacker Safe Channel Partner,
McAfee is retiring the Hacker Safe trustmark, completely replacing the service and trustmark with the new and improved McAfee SECURE for Web Sites service. The upgrade of all existing Hacker Safe customers to the McAfee SECURE service is scheduled for July 16, 2008. The new McAfee SECURE trustmark was thoroughly tested on live sites against the Hacker Safe marks and scored even higher in conversion increases. The new marks also leverage the powerful brand of McAfee. To be McAfee SECURE, our clients' sites must still pass the same rigorous daily scans that were required for them to be Hacker Safe.In addition, they will also need to have a "green" rating on SiteAdvisor, another McAfee subsidiary.SiteAdvisor tests web sites to keep Internet users safe from spyware, spam, viruses and online scams |
