How do I list an item on eBay?

1. Go to Products > Product Catalog Manager.
   
   
2. Search for the product that needs to be listed on eBay and click Edit.
   
   
3. In the Product Editor, click the Data Feeds tab, and then click the eBay logo.
   
   
4. Check the Enable eBay radio button.
   
   
   
   
5. Fill out the information on this page accordingly. Fields in bold are required. See below for details on each field.
   
   
   
   
6. Click Create Listing. 
   
   

Once this is done, the item will be scheduled to be listed on eBay. You can view the scheduled listings by going to Products > eBay - Manage Listings.

Note: This process only applies to some eBay merchants. Some will be using only attributes to push listings in bulk. See here for more information.

List of all eBay fields: (Items with a (*) are required.)

*Title: This could be considered the most important part of the listing since it is the first and often the only impression a buyer will have. Use as many searchable keywords to describe your item as possible. (avoid using words people aren’t likely to search for like “WOW” and “L@@K”.)

Help buyers find your listing with a title that is clear, complete, and descriptive. State exactly what the item is (even if it repeats the category name). Include details such as the brand, product name, size, or artist.

Sub-Title: This is an additional field where it helps to add searchable keywords to describe your item such as the brand, product name, etc. Consider adding a subtitle so more of the product description is available to be displayed in search results.

*Start Price: You have two options, either to select Storefront Price or Custom Price. When Storefront Price is selected, it populates the price that is available in the Simple tab of the Product Editor. Custom Price gives an option to set a different price on the eBay interface. Note: eBay does not support creating listings when the price is 0. So please ensure that you set a numerical value for the price which is greater than 0.

Buy-It-Now Price: This is the price the customer can purchase the product using eBay's Buy-It-Now feature.

Quantity: If the All Available Inventory option is selected, it will list all available quantity for the SKU. However, if you wish to restrict the quantity on eBay, then it’s possible using Qty only to enter a numerical value for that quantity only. Note: In order to create a listing, the quantity available must be greater than 0.

Buffer Quantity: This allows you to select Positive and Negative values that modify the quantity sent to eBay for the listing if All Available Inventory’ is selected. For example, if the SKU has 100 qty and the buffer is 5 then the eBay listing will show the total available quantity as 105. If the buffer is -5 then eBay will show the available quantity as 95. 

*Description: When you write descriptions for the items you list on eBay, be sure you describe your items clearly and completely. Mention everything about the item; if the item is used or damaged be sure to describe the flaws. When you're honest up front, you'll have a happy buyer. Remember to include your terms of sale and specify the types of payment and credit cards you accept.

Image: Enter the correct image path - including high-quality, evenly lit pictures of your item can help sell your item.

*Category Id: Enter the correct Category Id for the article. Choose the category most relevant to your item to make it easy for buyers to find your listing. Clicking the question mark takes you to eBay's categories – this will help you to find the correct Category Id.

*Condition: Item condition specifications vary by category. Select the appropriate condition from the drop down list. If Condition is provided, then Condition Description is required and vice versa.

*Condition Description: This field helps elaborate the condition selected. If the item is used or damaged, be sure to describe the flaws. If Condition is provided, then Condition Description is required and vice versa.

Tax %: This field allows you impose a specific tax value. Note: If Tax % is provided then it is mandatory to provide the state which you wish to tax. When a buyer views your items, your tax rates will be shown on the item page. When your buyer goes through eBay checkout after purchasing one of your items, the system automatically calculates the correct sales tax amount based on the buyer's shipping address and the rates that you specified in your tax table. The sales tax amount will be included in the total amount requested from the buyer.

Tax State: As stated above, if Tax % is provided then it's mandatory to provide the state which you wish to tax. Enter the state's two letter code abbreviation (e.g. CT, CA, etc.)

Tax Shipping: You can also choose to charge tax on shipping by selecting Yes. If No is selected, shipping will not be taxed.

*Payment Method: When creating a listing you need to provide at least one pay method to buyers. Currently, Pulse Commerce supports PayPal. When the buyer pays eBay after purchasing your listing, you will receive a notification email directly from eBay telling you you've been paid and you can ship the item.

*Item Location Country: The default country is the USA. Note that providing the item location helps let buyers know where the item will be posted from or where they can pick it up. It may also be used by eBay to help determine the approximate postage and delivery time.

*Currency: The default is US dollar. At present, the system supports only US dollar amounts.

*Listing Duration: This value is used to set the duration of the listing. Most auction-style listings last 7 days. Durations of more than 7 days can incur a fee and change some upgrade and insertion fees. Listing duration requirements change based on the Category ID.

*Item Location Postal Code: This value is auto-populated by the system.

*Refunds Option: This enumerated type contains the possible refund, exchange, or store credit options that a seller may offer a buyer when the buyer wants to return the item. You will need to select one value from the drop down menu:

• Exchange: This value is deprecated on the US site, and all listings attempting to use this value will be blocked.
• Merchandise Credit: This value is deprecated on the US site, and all listings attempting to use this value will be blocked.
• Money Back: This value indicates that the seller will refund the buyer the cost of the item, excluding shipping and handling costs and any restocking fee (US only)
• Money Back Or Exchange: This value indicates that the seller will refund the buyer the cost of the item, excluding shipping and handling costs and any restocking fee (US only), or the seller will exchange the returned item for another identical/similar item.
• Money Back Or Replacement: This value indicates that the seller will refund the buyer the cost of the item (excluding shipping and handling costs and any restocking fee) through eBay-managed returns, or the seller will replace the returned item with another identical item.

*Returns Accepted Option: Specifies whether returns are accepted.

• ReturnsAccepted: The seller accepts returns, subject to other details specified in the policy.
• ReturnsNotAccepted: The seller does not accept returns.

Layout Id: A Layout template is assigned to the listing by specifying the eBay Layout template ID in the AddItem field LayoutID. 

Theme Id: Similarly, an eBay Theme template is assigned to the listing using the ThemeID field.

*Shipping Template: This defines the pre-defined shipping template you want to use for the listing. The template must first be created under Settings > Ship Methods & Rates > eBay Shipping Templates.

Best Offer: This feature enables a buyer to make a lower-priced, binding offer on that item. That is, the Best Offer feature enables a buyer to create a Best Offer on an item. The seller can accept the buyer's offer, submit a counteroffer, decline the offer, or let the offer naturally expire after 48 hours. If the seller accepts an offer, the listing ends and the Best Offer price and terms are displayed on the View Item page.

*Start Date: Indicate the listing start date. 

Note: Due to recent changes, listing to eBay now requires products to have the following attributes; listings for SKUs that do not have these attributes classes with values (these attributes do not need to be visible via the storefront) will fail:

Once the attribute classes have been created, add the product attribute values to the SKU: Products > Inventory Manager > Product Editor.

Note: the attribute values do not need to be visible, but just need to be present.
