How do I generate my Google Product Data Feed and upload it to the Google Merchant Center?

A Product Data Feed is simply a file that contains all the relevant information about individual products, such as product name, description, price, quantity, etc., that you'd like to list on various Shopping Search Engines. 

This article covers step-by-step instructions for configuring the Google Data Feed and creating a Product Data Feed at both the Editor Level and the Feed Level to be used in the Google Merchant Center.

Google’s Product Data Feed format has changed recently. Below are the details about the Product Feed generation and file upload.

1. Log into the Google Merchant Center using your email and password (Google account).
   
   
2. Register the data feed at Google Base.

3. Generate the feed file in Pulse Commerce:
   Go to Marketing > Product Data Feeds and press the Generate Default Data Feed button. 
   

   You can rename your feed via the Save Feed Settings button.

If you have configured products to use Custom Data Feeds, you can generate a feed of the custom products only via the Generate Custom Data Feed button.

After generating the feed, you can manually peruse and make edits to the file before uploading it to Google.

Format Requirements:

• The file must be tab-delimited in plain text.
• The first line of the file is the header – it must contain attribute names, separated by tabs.
• One item per line; separate each attribute in that line by a tab.
• Do not include trailing tabs at the end of lines
• Do not include tabs or breaks in the attributes themselves.

In addition to the following Google Program Policies, your items must also meet these requirements:

• Products must be shippable throughout the United States.
• Items and landing pages must list prices in US dollars.
• Only fixed prices are allowed. Variable prices, such as auction items, are not.
• Landing pages must be eCommerce-enabled and have only one item per page.
