Configure credit card payment options for your store, including which card brands to accept and how card information displays to customers during checkout and in their account profiles.
Control which credit cards you want to accept in your admin panel and/or storefront:
1Navigate to Settings > General Settings > Acceptable Credit Card Types
2Click Edit
3Enable or disable specific card types:
- Visa
- MasterCard
- American Express
- Discover
- Other supported cards
4Click Update under Actions to save your changes
Show accepted credit card logos to customers during the checkout process on your storefront:
1Navigate to Settings > General Settings
2Enable Display Credit Card Logos During Checkout
Result: Customers will see icons for all accepted card types during checkout, helping them quickly identify which payment methods you accept.
Allow customers to view and manage their saved credit cards on your storefront:
1Navigate to Settings > General Settings
2Enable Show Credit Card Info in Account Profile
Result: Customers can view and manage their saved cards under My Account > View or Delete Credit Card Info on your storefront
To view captured credit card numbers for manual processing, you must request a decryption key from Pulse Commerce Support.
How to Request Decryption Key
An Authorized Contact must create a support ticket with:

Email Body (copy exactly):
Dear Pulse Commerce,
By submitting this request for Credit Card Decryption, I understand and agree to the following:
- I have reviewed and understand PCI compliance requirements regarding storage and use of customer credit card numbers.
- I understand I may NOT store CVV2, CID, or any track data of a credit card.
- I certify that as an Authorized Contact, I have the authorization to request this change of service.

Using Decryption After Installation
1Navigate to Orders and open an order with offline credit card payment.
2On the order editor page, click the Decrypt Card button (only visible to users with permission).
3View the full card number and manually enter it into your physical or virtual terminal.
Granting Decryption Permission
1Navigate to Settings > User Accounts.
2Click Edit next to the admin user.
3Grant the "Decrypt Credit Card" permission in their role.
4Click Update.
Security Notes:
- Decrypt button only appears on Order Editor page (not Order List or Order View)
- Only Named Administrator accounts can have decryption permission
- Credit card numbers auto-delete after 60 days
- Limit permission to only necessary admin users
Pulse Commerce follows PCI compliance standards for credit card data storage and security.
Automatic Credit Card Deletion
Credit card numbers are automatically removed from order data 60 days from the date of order placement. All stored credit card numbers are encrypted.
Extending Retention Period
If your business requires longer retention (up to 180 days), an Authorized Contact must submit a written request.

PCI Compliance Best Practices
- Use real-time credit card processing (more secure than manual)
- Never store CVV2/CID codes (PCI violation)
- Change administrator passwords every 45 days
- Use SSL encryption for admin panel and checkout (enabled by default)
- Review PCI Data Security Standards regularly
