Navigate to Export

2When selected, category URLs will appear as the last column in your CSV file

Export File Contents
Your category export CSV includes:
- Category hierarchy: Parent-child relationships and nesting structure
- Category settings: Display options and configuration values
- SEO metadata: Meta titles, descriptions, and keywords
- Category URLs: Full URL paths (if Include Category URL was checked)
Working with Exported Data
For bulk updates:
- Open the CSV in Excel or Google Sheets
- Make your changes to category information
- Save the file
- Use the Category Import feature to update your categories
Export File Not Generating
Solution: Refresh the page and try again. If the issue persists, check that you have proper permissions to export data.
CSV File Won't Open
Solution: Make sure you have a spreadsheet application installed (Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice). Right-click the file and choose "Open with" to select your preferred application.
Missing Category URLs
Cause: The Include Category URL checkbox was not selected during export.
Solution: Generate a new export with the checkbox selected to include URLs in your file.
Best Practices
- Regular backups: Export your categories periodically as backup before making major changes
- Include URLs for SEO work: Always check Include Category URL when reviewing site structure or SEO
- Document your changes: Keep a copy of the original export before making bulk updates
- Test imports on staging: When re-importing modified data, test on a staging environment first
